Toyota Prius C to be available in 2012.
Toyota Prius C–the first compact hybrid hatchback from Toyota’s expanding Prius line–will be officially introduced for the U.S. market at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The Toyota Prius C is 19.1 inches shorter than a regular Prius. If we would want to compare this with others, so for example it’s only four inches longer than the 2012 Yaris hatchback.
Toyota predicts the Prius C will return 50 mpg in city driving. For the rest of the world – 3.8l/100km. Which is quite efficient, but not as I would like. The Volkwagen’s TDI engines are as about the same mileage for the diesel, which is cheaper than petrol (at least in Europe), and for lower price range.
The Toyota Prius C specifications :
Lenght 157.3 inches
Width 66.7 inches
Height 56.9 inches
Engine: 1.5L petrol engine DOHC, four-cylinder and an electric motor paired with a CVT
Petrol Consumption: 3.8 l/100 km
The car should come with full multimedia equipements:
Toyota Entune™ brings one of the largest selections of music options available to a vehicle, including iheartradio’s 750+ stations and Pandora® internet radio’s personalized music. In addition, the driver’s personal songs from portable media players and iPods (via USB or Bluetooth® audio streaming), and more than 170 stations from SiriusXM™ satellite radio are also available.
A quick quote from Toyota’s press release:
“Synergy Drive® with excellent aerodynamics to achieve outstanding fuel efficiency.”
