The US version of i-Miev is a bit longer, It’s because the shopping in US…. -:). No, seriously, the car has been modified to suits more for the American market. But what exactly has changed from the Japanese model?
– Enhanced, enlarged body structure that offer ample space for four passengers.
– New front and rear bumpers.
Here are the US specifications:
– Length : 3,680mm [+285mm]
– Width : 1,585mm [+110mm]
– Height : 1,615mm [+5mm]
– Tread (front/rear) : 1,420mm/1,380mm [+110mm/+110mm]
The i-MiEV can travel 45 to 75 miles on one charge, which is sufficient for a city car like this one. The car will use a three-way charging system that plugs into a 110 volt socket (which will take 12 hours to charge fully), a 220 volt socket (expect six hours to fully charge), as well as a “quick charge” capability that offers 80 percent power in about 25 minutes.
The i-MiEV is expected to go on sale in the US within 2011, with prices starting from about $30,000.
