We have another big solar projest. This time the realisation si gonna be in Australia. This time it is the company WorleyParsons, who strangely is inthe coal, nuclear and Canadian oil sands bussiness.Strange? Maybe not. Maybe they just feel that the time for coal are finished? That the future is the renewable energy? Yes. I love projects like this and I wish there would be 10 times more to talk about.
According to the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) the firm plans to have 250 Megawatt plant. It will use the solar energy to produce steam for running steam turbines. The project should be accomplished by 2011 and the energy produced shous satisfy 100 000 houses.
Australia has committed to a ensuring that by 2020, 20 per cent of Australia’s electricity supply comes from renewable energy sources. The Government will also introduce an emissions trading scheme by 2010.
