Toyota is developping a charging stations for plug-in Electric cars
This info is just great. It comes from Toyota which is currently developping a charging stations for Electric Cars and Plug-in hybrids like the Toyota Prius 3 plug-in hybrid.
This new charging station for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles that is powered by solar energy. Toyota City in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, now testing one of those stations and project to create and plans to build 21 stations at 11 places.
The charging station produces 1.9KW of solar power. The power then is stored in an 8.4KWh battery pack. We did not managed to get further details about the battery pack. The station is also connected to the grid. This is very usefull in case there is no sun to charge actually the batteries from the sun and people still want to charge their vehicles….
