Global Solar Energy is Selling CIGS Thin Film Solar Cells to Silicon Module Manufacturers
Global Solar Energy, Inc. manufacturer of thin-film Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) solar cells announced they recently began selling their solar cells in power strings to established silicon module manufacturers. Global Solar Energy’s CIGS solar cells are built on a flexible substrate and for the past three years, all the solar cells manufactured by Global Solar were only used for their flexible, foldable, portable solar panel products.
Global Solar Energy will increase production of its CIGS solar cell power strings to meet the new demand from manufacturers. “We are going up to 4.2 MW by January of 2007 and 40MW by January of 2008 to keep up with the demand for our current flexible, foldable, portable solar panel line as well as this new demand for our cell strings”, admits Mr. Gering.
