Pretty cool electric bike, and production ready has been unveiled recently by VolksWagen.
This folding electric bike with one of the most ingenious folding mechanisms I’ve seen. The range is 20 kilometres (12.5 miles), the Bik.e (thats the name of the bike…) has 20 inch wheels and folds to a footprint identical to that of a car spare tyre, enabling it to be stowed away easily.
Its full electric, that means that you don’t have the pedals to help ans speed up a bit…
VW wasn’t clear on where the bike gets it power, but Autoblog Green presumes it gets juice from the car DC power system and the wall outlet. I can see this being something that people in crowded cities that have to park a long way from their destination might like.
