A solar energy is used very clever way to power air-condition system. The idea behind this project is to recover the heat produced by the solar panels, to produce hot water. This hot water is directed into a machine, which dissociate the water and a Lithium bromide. After cooling, the re-composition of these, will produce a cool by absorption of heat. The cool is directed and distributed into the apartments as needed.
The system is clean and doesn’t pollute the environment. It reduces the CO2 emissions. This installation has been the 6th installation in France and is supported by ADEME and Région Réunion (FR)
Technical details:
- 89 m² of solar panels from Thermomax
- A storage tank – the capacity of 500 L – for storage of hot water
- An absorption machine with 35 kWf of power from YAZAKI
- A refrigerating tower with 85kW of power from DECSA (which permit to evacuate water of low temperature)

Every system not using fosil energy is interesting. Price drops however is very important on those systems so everybody can afford to buy such a stuff….
Cheers
I work for an HVAC company and I find solar powered air conditioning very interesting.
As one who works for an HVAC company I find the prospects of solared power air conditioning fascinating.
