Tesla Model S Pricing.
As a fan of electric cars, I was nicely surprised with the pricing of the new Tesla Model S. The most basic model starts at $ 49 900.
The pricing and other details of car have been revealed. With Model S almost half less expensive than the sport mode.
There are 3 different batteries proposed – 40, 60 and 85kWh. The least “beefed” one still has the range of 160 miles which is not bad at all… -:) and the 0 to 110 mph is at 6.5 seconds for this model of battery. The more powerful battery can get you farther – 300 miles range with one second faster to reach the 110 mph.
Charging is possible with 110 or 220V, depends of the country… You can plug into the most common 240-volt outlet, standard 120-volt wall outlets or public charging stations. The car can be recharged at the rate of 62 miles range per hour. A fifty-percent charge in thirty minutes – this is the fastest charging possible with special supercharger.
The interior is apparently very quiet, since Tesla’s engineers manufactured very quiet powertrain to get the the best possible experience. The dashboard is made of Banana leaf.
Audio system delivers 200 W. The touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and steering wheel controls seamlessly integrate media, navigation, communications, cabin controls and vehicle data.
The big 17′ touchscreen provides you with broadband high-speed internet connectivity as well….
A quick quote from the car’s manufacturer’s website:
“Model S comes equipped with four USB ports that enable passengers to charge devices while on the go. Equipped with high-speed connectivity, Model S works as a hotspot, providing internet connectivity for other devices while on the go.”
Prices varies from $49 900 for the basic model and $97,400 for the “signature performance” model. As for now the model is only at pre-reservation in the US.
