Lotus might come with solar powered plug-in city car
Apparently, Automotive Engineer magazine asked Lotus automaker to come up with a concept for a city car, and the car maker came up with the clean, all-electric Smart lookalike.
The car uses an 37kW electric motor which is powered from a lithium ion battery. The top speed is 65mph. The range is only about 30 miles after a full charge. To have the battery fully charged again, it takes only about three hours and thirty minutes from a standard 13A power outlet.
Dimensions for the concept car are similar like the Smart ForTwo, but this concept car is four seater. It’s small four seater though. But for a city travels is just fine. I wonder how much would cost a car like this. For urban people could be interresting going shopping with a car like this one… -:)
