Electric Volkswagen to come

Volkswagen Golf Blue-E-Motion will be released in 2013. The Plug-in EV will be on sale in US, Canada and Europe. With it’s 93 miles range and 115 hp electric motor the EV will be powered by Lithium Ion batteries.

The weight will stay arround 3400 pounds says Volkswagen, which is only about 600 pounds more than the gasoline version of Golf.

VW is also planning plug-in electric versions of the Jetta and the Chinese-market Lavida for 2013. Even though VW just refreshed the six-generation Golf for the U.S. in 2010, the article said that the 2013 and 2014 models would likely be seventh-generation Golfs.

VW is plans also a plug-in electric versions of the Volkswagen Jetta  for 2013. VW just refreshed the six-generation Golf for the U.S. in 2010 the new plug-in EV will become the seventh-generation of Golfs.

VW will be to producing a fleet of as many as 500 prototype versions of the Golf Blue-E-Motion for internal testing before the production starts. Afterwards the new version arrives in 2013.
