Signet plans to begin shipping its films to commercial customers this month and to ramp up its production to full capacity in the next two months,
Signet Solar fabricated the industry’s first ever Gen 8.5 (5.7 m2 ) silicon thin film solar PV module in May of 2008 at its new factory near Dresden, Germany in a record setting ten months from the start of construction. This model manufacturing line will be replicated globally to expand capacity.
Signet, which has set up its thin-film plant in Germany, plans to expand its production to more than 100 megawatts by 2009.
