Bus with ultracapacitors in Paris
German company MAN had implanted an ultracapacitor in one of their busses. The ultracapacitor allows the bus to start without turning on the engine. Once the bus is moving, the diesel engine starts running. They are few of them actually beeing tested at the Paris’s public transport system RATP.
The hybrid bus reduces use about 20 to 25 percent less fuel than normal busses you can see out there right now and which are not using this wonderfull technology. If the test are going well, it could be a way for the ultracapacitors finally to find their way onto our roads.
